PINE TEARS

this is a part of a new experimental material design project, which aims to use local natural resources and uncover the design process that lays behind the final product

PINE TEARS is an experimental organic material made using natural pine sap resin for a binder. pine sap was harvested in a lithuanian forest, near my home. during the material making process, pine sap was melted down and mixed with other organic ingredients like crushed charcoal, chalk, natural wax, and wood dust

PINE TEARS is a set of materials alternative to synthetic substances - these materials are waterproof, malleable and completely solid when they get cold. these materials can be used as a natural glue to combine multiple components into one and to cover the surface, they can also be molded while still warm or used as a solid material. these materials can be melted down and re-shaped again and again
